As some of you know, in July of 2021, my wife and I sold our house in North Carolina.
We had ticked many of the boxes we thought were important...
✅Green grass.
✅Big house (3500 sq feet)
✅Big SUV
✅Plenty of space for the kids
✅"Good" "safe" neighborhood
✅Fenced in yard with a swingset.
But we were miserable.
We had followed everyone else's guidance for what "SUCCESS" and "HAPPINESS" looked like… but had neglected our own. Maybe we were just trying to win over other people or prove we were good enough. I don't know.
I just know I started to feel a calling. It wasn't really a voice or a message. It just felt like this urgent push to see more of what's out there and more of what's in me.
It was challenging me to let go…
🎈To stop pretending like I have it all together.
🎈To stop giving a shit over what kitchen appliances we have.
🎈To stop worrying about what car best represents our income status.
Suddenly what was once so important to me wasn't anymore. The house, the car, the lifestyle…what use was any of it if we were just numb?
What we really craved was to feel alive again. To show our kids that success isn't about accumulating more stuff to prove 𝙬𝙚 were worth something.
That maybe it was about creating more 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒔 that are worth something.
So in July we changed everything. We sold our house, put most of our stuff in storage, gave away the rest….And we bought an RV.
Now we're traveling the country full time.
